Weekly Planning
Weekly planning describes a brief, cadence-based review to align goals, calendar and tasks for the next 7 days.
Psychologically it offloads prospective memory, reduces decision fatigue and clusters similar work to cut switch costs.
There is no rigid format, but a good weekly plan is a negotiation with reality. It balances ambition with constraints so progress is sustainable.
Usually it follows the following core loop:
- Review last week
- Pick a small set of outcomes
- Map them to reality-based calendar time
- Batch admin
- Protect 1-3 focus blocks and add buffers
Keep it lightweight, use simple checklists and anchor each day to one clear priority so you decide once, not repeatedly.
