Mindfulness
Mindfulness is the skill of paying deliberate, non‑judgmental attention to the present moment. It's a skill built by short, regular reps rather than long, occasional sessions.
It reduces rumination, widens cognitive flexibility and improves the quality of decisions under uncertainty. Instead of suppressing thoughts, you notice them and return attention to what matters now.
It trains noticing thoughts, feelings and bodily cues before reacting, which can reduce stress and improve self-regulation. For work, brief practices (one intentional breath, a 60-second scan or mindful transitions between tasks) lower reactivity and support single-task focus.
Mindfulness complements self‑management tools like time boxing and weekly planning by stabilizing attention.
